Closure of Kapai Kidz
With deep sadness, we need to let you know that Kapai Kidz will close its doors for the last time on Friday 11 April 2025.
This means there will be no Kapai Kidz April holiday programme.
Like many small businesses, the economic climate, mass job cuts in Wellington, increased normality in working from home and the ever increasing costs to maintain the business has made it increasingly difficult, and now impossible, to continue operations.
From 2002 (when my own children attended Bellevue School) to 2025, it has been a privilege to care for your children and be a part of this wonderful community. Kapai Kidz has always been more than just an after-school programme—it’s been a place where we have endeavoured to nurture the values of Whānau (family and relationships), Kaitiakitanga (guardianship and care for all that surrounds us), Hauora (wellbeing), and Whakamana (fostering empowerment and belief) in the hearts of all our children. Together, we've celebrated diversity through sports, dance, music, art, respect and a commitment to our surroundings.
Kapai Kidz has been a stepping stone for many young people, with numerous college students starting their careers with us, and I am incredibly grateful for the support and trust you’ve shown over the years.
In our pending absence, Bellevue School is actively exploring alternative options for before-and-after school care, as well as holiday programmes for the community.
Thank you for being part of the Kapai Kidz journey. I will always hold these memories close to my heart, and I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you for your continued support. To your children, I wish the best lives, full of opportunity, self-belief, kindness and love.
With warm regards and heartfelt thanks
