You need to contact us in every instance as the school DOES NOT advise us of your child’s absence.
Kapai Kidz® closes at 6pm. There is a late pickup fee of $20 per child for the first 15 minutes, however, this may be waived under certain circumstances.
All new attendees are buddied with a child until they feel comfortable in their new surroundings.  We also nominate team leaders from each area of the school (Junior, Middle and Seniors) to help with this.
Kapai Kidz® is OSCAR and WINZ approved. The required staff ratio is 1 to 10 children onsite and 1 staff member to 8 children offsite. During the After School Programme, where the numbers are greater, our staff ratio is higher than recommended.
The After School Programme has structured outdoor and indoor activity Monday to Thursday. Friday is ‘free play’ when children choose their activities. Children are encouraged to participate as a group in activities although it’s not compulsory. Kapai Kidz® is well resourced to cater for the needs of all age groups.
The children are offered fresh fruit and raw vegetables together with a cookie and four selections of sandwiches. Wednesday and Friday are ‘baking days’ and may include muffins, pizza, sausage rolls etc. To quench the thirst, there’s a watercooler containing filtered water.
We regularly practise fire and earthquake drills.  Kapai Kidz® is equipped with earthquake survival kits.
In addition to our own rigorous recruitment process, all staff over the age of 17 years are Police vetted.
We help the children from Monday to Thursday. Any unfinished homework can be completed during the weekend with parents/caregivers.
The children are regularly reminded of our core values. These are respect, kindness and responsible behaviour. The staff encourages positive behavior which usually causes ‘challenging’ behaviour to fall by the wayside.
Only people authorised on the enrolment form can collect your child. You may also authorise someone else to pick them up by phoning, emailing or texting us.
